What is a blessing? When God created humankind as His image, we received a blessing:
God blessed them and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, fill the land, and conquer it. Rule over the fish of the sea, the flying creatures of the sky, and over every animal that crawls on the land.”
– GENESIS 1:28 TLV
And when God gave Abraham a calling to go out from his land, he received a blessing too:
My heart’s desire is to make you into a great nation, to bless you, to make your name great so that you may be a blessing.
– GENESIS 12:2 TLV
The Bible gives us many examples of how God wants to bless those who obey His voice, but for me, personally, more important than receiving a blessing is to be a blessing to others. That’s what God said to Abraham “that you may be a blessing”, and there’s no specific condition for that, so we are also called to be a blessing anywhere and to anyone.
When I received the invitation to come to Korea and join the Tabernacle of David team for 3 months, I felt so happy and blessed, because it’s more than just a regular trip, it’s a huge blessing to be reunited with this Korean family and get to know better about their calling, their culture, their country, their food…and to build together the Tabernacle of David in this land.
Yes, it’s a unique opportunity for me to be here and to learn from each other. To be a blessing to them and also to receive their blessings. During this time I will be sharing a little bit of this beautiful journey.
